Shekar Pannala is the chief information officer for The Hartford. He is responsible for leading Technology, as well as cyber security, infrastructure and cloud modernization across the enterprise.

Pannala’s broad technology experience was built over a 30-year career of increasing responsibility. Before joining The Hartford in 2023 as chief information officer for property & casualty, Pannala served as the global CIO of Chubb, where he was responsible for technology across the enterprise. Prior to Chubb, Pannala was chief technology officer at S&P Global. He also held senior management roles at BNY Mellon, where he was executive vice president and divisional chief information officer responsible for asset servicing technology.

Pannala is a volunteer and board member of Chinmaya Mission, New Jersey, a non-profit organization that is focused on spiritual growth and serving the community.

Pannala holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics and communications from Nagarjuna University in India and advanced certification in computer science from the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), formerly known as the National Centre for Software Technology in India. He also completed an advanced management program at The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
