Elizabeth (Beth) Puchek is the Chief Data Officer (CDO) for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) within the Department of Homeland Security. The CDO is in the USCIS Office of Performance and Quality and is responsible for executing the USCIS Data Strategy, promoting the management and utility of data as a corporate asset, building a data-driven culture, and facilitating data governance across the immigration system. Priorities for the CDO’s office include improving data quality for case management and maturing the data architecture strategy (per the USCIS 2023 Strategic Plan).

Puchek was named CDO at USCIS in 2020 after serving in the Deputy CDO role for two years. Before joining USCIS, she served in various roles at U.S. Customs and Border Protection including Chief of Staff of Enterprise Services, Director of System Engineering, and Requirements & Architecture Branch Chief.
