Dorothy Aronson serves as the Chief Data Officer Assistant CIO for Artificial Intelligence at the National Science Foundation, where she leads the Division of Data and Artificial Intelligence (DDAI). The DDAI oversees and coordinates activities at NSF related to enterprise data management, the responsible use and development of AI, data services, and machine learning services.
Aronson previously served the NSF as both the Acting CIO and as the Director for the Division of Information Systems within the Office of Information and Resource Management. She has facilitated the linkage of mission and strategy to IT tools that enable the Foundation to manage the full lifecycle of proposals and awards.
She was recognized in 2013 as one of the FCW Fed 100 for her mastery of innovation and for her ability to effectively engage her staff around a common vision for cutting-edge IT in support of NSF-funded cutting-edge research.
